Dr. Noel Peterson has practiced naturopathic medicine for over 32 years in Lake Oswego, Oregon, where he directs the Center for Traditional Medicine. He is recognized as an expert in prolotherapy and PRP since 1999, and is the only physician in the Portland area Certified in prolotherapy by the American Association of Orthopaedic Medicine. Dr. Peterson conducts ongoing research in the use of prolotherapy and platelet rich plasma to treat injuries, degenerative arthritis, and pain, and is a diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management.   • “I spend a lot of time in the backcountry, enjoying our public lands with a pack on my back and a map in my hands. It isn’t uncommon for me to venture on foot for 80 miles over the course of a week, trekking over mountain passes and across high mountain basins with friends.   • “I'm 23 years old. I saw Dr. Peterson for prolo about a year ago because for 9 or 10 years I had been experiencing knee problems. It had begun with creaking and popping sounds and a grinding sensation when I crouched and stood up, and slowly progressed over the years into near constant pain. It got to the point where I was taking painkillers several times a day to escape the grinding feeling when I walked. I work in a two-story building and had to stop using the stairs because of pain.   • “Migraine Headaches, Hip Pain I am a 50 year old mother of two. Several years ago I started having terrible migraine headaches which would incapacitate me for days. I was taking Topamax to lessen the frequency and also AltMax for when I would get a migraine despite the Topamax.
